Lib Dems HOLD Hythe West and Langdown


Liberal Democrats in the New Forest are celebrating tonight after local community campaigner, Sean Cullen, held the seat of Hythe West and Langdown on New Forest District Council.

Despite the Conservatives throwing everything at the seat, and Labour standing unlike last time, the people of Hythe West and Langdown voted for Sean Cullen to represent them on New Forest District Council.

 

Sean polled 559 votes compared to the Conservative Party's 497. Labour received 153 votes an Independent candidate received 44 votes. Turnout was 25.16%.

Speaking afterwards, Councillor Sean Cullen, said:

I am delighted that the residents of Hythe West and Langdown have continued to return a Liberal Democrat councillor, and I am deeply honoured to represent my home ward where I also serve as a Parish Councillor."
