Lib Dems select General Election Candidates

Despite boundary changes in other parts of the country, both New Forest constituencies remain intact ahead of next year's General Election.

New Forest East encompasses the entirety of Totton and the Waterside as well as the central parts of the New Forest - including Ashurst, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, and Sway.

New Forest West runs south from Martin Down Nature Reserve in the north west through Fordingbridge, Ringwood, Burley, Bransgore and New Milton before cutting east along the coast to Milford, Hordle and Lymington.

Cllr Caroline Rackham, a Town and District Councillor for Totton South, has been selected as the Lib Dem candidate for New Forest East.

Caroline is currently Chair of Totton & Eling Town Council. Her main priorities are environmental issues and building strong communities. She helps run the Lantern Procession and Remembrance Parade in Totton.

Cllr Jack Davies, a Town and District Councillor for Pennington, has been selected to stand for New Forest West.

Jack is the current Mayor of Lymington & Pennington and came 2nd in New Forest West at the last General Election. Jack's main priority for New Forest West is to cut NHS waiting times so people can get a local GP or Dentist Appointment when they need one.
